Tarras

Māori Point Wines

Surrounded by the Southern Alps, the vineyard thrives in an extreme sub-alpine environment ideal for Pinot Noir with schist soils, intense sunlight and cool nights. This land is a bend on the Mata-Au (Clutha River) where Māori prospectors panned for gold in the 1860s. We are two families devoted to this land and the wines it creates. We are winegrowers, but also scientists who study the soil, weather, plants, animals, and microbes that shape our wines. Seeking a deeper understanding of this place and the wines it can create, our practices honour nature and tradition: sustainable hand-based viticulture, low yields, wild yeast fermentations, minimal sulphites, and natural winemaking.

Bendigo

Moko Hills

Moko Hills is a family-owned estate encompassed within the Bendigo foothills of the Dunstan Range, overlooking Lake Dunstan. The vineyard blocks are embraced by a unique mix of native flora and fauna – stands of kānuka and kōwhai hugging the outcrops of quartz and schist. Among these iconic trees, a range of native shrubs, mosses and fungal communities intertwine, creating home and refuge for a range of endemic species. Lizards | Mokomoko, such as the kawarau gecko, bathe upon the sun-baked rock, blending into the mossy cover. Pairs of Fantails | Pīwakawaka dance between branches, snapping up the occasional insect.

Mt Michael-Mountaineer

1994 The story begins – Mount Michael Vineyard arose out of Sue and Martin Anderson’s desire to live and run a business in Central Otago. They spent nearly two years finding the right site; a six hectare plot overlooking the Wanaka – Queenstown turnoff at Cromwell. An initial three-hectare vineyard was planted with approximately half Chardonnay grapes and the other half in Pinot Noir grapes. 2026 After 20 years away, we’ve taken a lease over our original Cromwell block, returning to the foothills of Mount Michael where it all began. This vineyard reflects the early vision of Sue and Martin, with rootstock planted in 1994. Today, those vines are delivering exactly what was hoped for all those years ago. With some of the region’s oldest Chardonnay and deeply established Pinot Noir, we’re now working with fruit that carries real depth, balance and site expression. These are mature vines with a strong sense of place. With them, we’re looking ahead with confidence and intent, building on a foundation that has been decades in the making.

The Passion and Dedication of a Second-Generation Family-Owned Winery. Pisa Range Estate is a family-run, boutique vineyard, established in 1995 and located in the Pisa district (10 km north of Cromwell) Central Otago. Minimal intervention has been our guiding principle in the management of the land and in the winery. The aim is for our wines to express their ‘sense of place’. The ‘Black Poplar Block’ Pinot Noir – rated as a New Zealand ‘Classic’ – is our signature wine crafted from the oldest vines. Our inaugural Riesling was launched with the 2012 vintage, produced from vines with an average age of around 8 years.

Stewart Town

In 2009 Kerry Stainton-Herbert and Doug Herbert stood on their rabbit and briar-infested plot overlooking the historic ruins of the once flourishing Stewart Town gold mining settlement and knew their dream of producing fabulous Pinot Noir was possible. Both vintner and winemakers needed time to understand the terroir of this small, but unique vineyard. That was the start, and The Bounder pinot noir was born, first vintage 2014. Grapes from this small boutique vineyard were harvested and winemakers Grant Taylor and Jen Parr created a very special wine for you to enjoy.

Both winemakers, they gained experience through vintages around the world, before arriving in New Zealand in 2020 for a vintage in Marlborough. Initially planning to move to Europe the pandemic led them to stay in New Zealand. In 2021 they settled in Alexandra and two years later, established their vineyard.
